The Customer Truth Gap

Three gaps stand between you and your next dollar of revenue.

Whether you’re a CEO, a VP of marketing, an agency director, a prime contractor, a campaign strategist, or a crisis commander — the same three gaps cost you the same way. Customers, communities, voters, stakeholders. They all hold the truth. The question is whether you can hear it in time to act on it.

01
The Belief Gap

What you believe about your customers, communities, voters, or stakeholders — versus what they actually mean, buy, vote for, or do. Founder assumption, executive assumption, agency assumption, campaign assumption: every persona Loren serves shares the same blind spot. The story you tell yourself about why people choose you — or leave, or vote against you — is almost never the story they would tell about themselves.

02
The Data Gap

What your dashboards, polls, focus groups, KPIs, or proposal scorecards show you — versus what they can’t see. Numbers measure outcomes. They don’t measure the unspoken objections, the political third rails, the procurement-officer hesitations, the constituent doubts, or the buying behaviors that explain every revenue, vote, contract award, or community-trust outcome you actually care about.

03
The Dollar Gap

Every unclosed intelligence gap has a direct cost — missed revenue for the founder, missed pipeline for the VP, lost contracts for the prime, lost margin for the campaign, lost trust for the agency, lost customers for the crisis commander. The H.O.W. C.O.M.E. methodology connects every finding to a dollar figure, a vote count, a contract value, or an enrollment number — so you know exactly what closing each gap is worth, and in what order.

Hypothesize

Before any client engagement begins, Loren builds a working hypothesis from the available evidence. What is the core intel goal? What is the relevant context? What are the suspected gaps in what the business already knows about its customers?

  • Define the core intel goal in one sentence
  • Map the relevant commercial and human context
  • Identify suspected gaps in existing knowledge
  • Build a flexible question outline, not a rigid script
02 — Who I Serve

Seven kinds of clients. One method.

From scrappy founders to government agencies, political campaigns to crisis firms — the H.O.W. C.O.M.E. methodology works wherever someone needs to know what people actually mean.

01 B2B · Early Stage

The Scrappy Starter

Ambitious early-stage founder with more vision than budget

Knows something is wrong with their marketing but can’t name it. Has been burned by generic consultant reports. Needs clarity fast, at a price a bootstrapped business can afford.

$250 Customer · Entry
03 B2B · $10M–$50M

The Frustrated VP

Mid-sized company with a marketing department that is not delivering

Has internal resources but external blind spots. Needs structured methodology, not charisma. Wants a four-part engagement — analysis, gap assessment, solutions, training — that sticks.

$15K – $50K+ Client · Strategic
04 B2G · Public Sector

The Government Gatekeeper

Public sector agency leader building community trust through accurate intelligence

Needs unbiased data on community needs, behaviors, and attitudes. Requires professional focus group facilitation and comprehensive marketing plans — built on real research, not assumptions.

$25K – $250K+ Client · Strategic
05 B2B/B2G · Primes

The Prime Contractor Partner

Large contractor seeking a specialized subcontractor to win government work

Views subcontractors as competitive tools on bids. Needs documented methodology, certifications, and past performance that elevates a proposal — not just fills a compliance checkbox.

$10K – $150K+ Client · Strategic
06 B2P · Campaigns

The Campaign Strategist

Political operative who needs to know what voters actually think — not what they say

Knows messaging is missing something but can’t put their finger on what. Polls tell them what people will say publicly. Loren tells them what voters actually mean — in time to change the message.

$5K – $75K Client · Strategic
07 B2B · Crisis

The Crisis Commander

Crisis professional who needs fast, accurate intelligence when every hour counts

Calm under pressure. Acutely aware of what they don’t know. Needs stakeholder sentiment intelligence before the response strategy gets built on assumption — deployed in hours, not weeks.

$7.5K – $50K+ Client · Strategic
Don’t see yourself above?

The method works for any business that needs to know the truth.

08 — About Loren

The How Come Lady.

Loren Robinson is an attorney-trained market intelligence specialist and the founder of Millennia Media — known to her clients as The How Come Company. For nearly three decades, she has been the person organizations call when they need to know what their customers, communities, stakeholders, or voters are actually thinking — not what the polling said they would say.

Her ability to “ferret out” information, as she puts it, comes from years as an attorney trained to read what people aren’t saying, to watch body language, and to rephrase a question until the truth comes out. She brings that same discipline to every listening session, stakeholder interview, focus group, and community engagement she runs.

“My mom was a big talker,” Loren says. “When I was a kid, I used to wonder why she talked to everybody. Now I am her. People open up to me. There is something about me that makes them want to tell the truth. And when they do, my job is to record it faithfully, cross-reference it rigorously, and deliver it to my clients in a form they can actually act on.”

That discipline has been codified into the proprietary H.O.W. C.O.M.E. methodology — seven steps that turn conversations, observations, and interview transcripts into the kind of market intelligence that changes a revenue trajectory, wins a government contract, or redirects a crisis response. It is what makes Millennia Media different from every other firm on the market.

09 — FAQ

What people ask before they hire me.

The honest questions I get most often in discovery calls — answered in my own voice.

Still have a question? Book a call. →
How is this different from the last consultant I hired? +
The last consultant likely delivered a generic slide deck of best practices. I deliver a specific, cross-referenced intelligence report on your actual customers and stakeholders. The difference is that I am not giving you “what has worked elsewhere” — I am telling you what is happening inside your business right now, including the parts your team has not told you.
I have been burned by marketing consultants who disappear. What makes you different? +
Every engagement I take on includes an implementation training phase for your team — it is baked into the pricing, not an upsell. I do not hand you a report and vanish. I stay accountable to the outcomes, and the H.O.W. C.O.M.E. platform (launching 2026) lets us both track progress on the action plan long after the session ends.
Will this just be another generic report I cannot use? +
No. Every Intelligence Report I produce has a Recommended Actions section with confidence ratings, an inconsistencies and flags section that shows exactly what is not adding up, and an action plan your team can check off one item at a time. If you cannot do something with it in the first seven days, I have not done my job.
Can you navigate government procurement? +
Yes. I have responded to RFPs at the local, county, and state levels. My capability statement, documented methodology, past performance summaries, and certifications are all ready for procurement review. I also partner with prime contractors as a compliant subcontractor on community engagement and marketing technical volumes.
How fast can you deploy in a crisis? +
For crisis engagements with established firms in my network, I can be deployed same-day or next-day. Within 48 hours I have typically conducted stakeholder interviews, run at least one community listening session, and delivered a findings brief that the crisis team can build a response strategy around. Speed and discretion are non-negotiable in this work.
How do you get community members to actually open up? +
Two reasons. First, I do not facilitate like a marketer — I facilitate like a fact-finder, which is a different posture people can feel in the room. Second, my mother was a big talker, and something of that got into me. People tell me things. My job is to record faithfully, protect confidentiality rigorously, and deliver what they said in a form that actually helps.
What does the $250 How Come Diagnostic actually include? +
A 20-minute intake from you, my personal application of H.O.W. C.O.M.E. to your marketing and customer data, and a written diagnostic report identifying the three highest-impact gaps in your market intelligence with specific next actions. Delivered within 7 business days. It is the lowest-risk way to see what working with me actually looks like.
When does the H.O.W. C.O.M.E. platform launch? +
The full SaaS platform is in active development and launching in 2026. Founding Members — limited to the first 100 pre-subscribers — lock in the $29.99/mo rate when they commit to the annual plan ($359 per year), with full day-one access and no waitlist. Everyone on the free waitlist is notified at launch at the standard $49.99/mo rate. Founding Members also join a private monthly Q&A call with me and have direct input on the roadmap.

Let’s find both — and the dollars hiding in between.
